“A FAMILY THAT SLAYS TOGETHER…(2013)

A commission I did for my friend (and former bandmate) Courtney, with her boyfriend and their dog. Somehow they became these badass comic book vampire hunters. It’s super fun…and she’s happy, so I’m happy!

I designed the flyer for this years NIGHT OF THE HOT RODS…and it turned out pretty well! Kind of a comic version of an old black & white horror movie! The event will be awesome, and I’ll be there too! Check it out if you can!

Defining more of the shapes and body…playing with hair.  Not sure about that texture on the corset.

Created the background and the base colors and starting to define skin tones.

Going to try something fun here…hopefully this will work. Here is a sketch I did based off a picture I saw floating around tumblr a while back.  A few touches from me. It caught my eye and I saw a chance to create a haunting vampire queen….so something. We’ll see where it ends up.

Starting tomorrow The Dinosaur Factory will move “en mass” down to Orange County to take part in Wondercon 2013. Once you are there….how will you find us. Well…we’ve provided a handy dandy map for you to use….

I was going to draw little people running away, but I realized I was starting to lose sight as to what the intention of this map was. 

We will have a lot of goodies this weekend, including all the new art prints (“The Creature”, “Tiki Princess”, and of course what I have left of “Where The Wild Things Were”), plus all the shirts, and the lovely Olivia Dantes (famed pin-up and alternative model and burlesque performer) will be there as well. Rumor has it she plans to cosplay this year…so look for that. When not at our table, I’m betting she’ll be found in the Horror Collectible Section.  I’m not kidding.

I’ll be doing commissions and hanging out all day talking about anything nerdy you want to chat about, and maybe I’ll even come clean about the new manga style comic book project I have coming together with a particular punk rock legend friend of mine….if it happens…it could be really really neat.
